How Good Should I Be At Bmx To Go To Camp Woodward?
On July - 30 - 2009
How good do you need to be at bmx to go to camp woodward. I can bunny hop, drop in on smaller ramps, manual for about 15 feet, bunny hop 180, and bunny hop x- up. What else should i be able to do in order to go?

You could have bought a bmx bike the day you go and ride it for the very first time at wood ward. The only thing you really need to go to wood ward is an eagerness to learn, a bike, and enough money to pay your way in. When you go to wood ward you should be more interested in getting your moneys worth.
You can and should learn every trick you can before going, but go to wood ward with a list full of goals. Try to imagine things that you don’t think are possible, but you have always wanted to do. Imagine a riding aesthetic that you have always wanted, or parts of your style that you want to magnify. Wood ward is the place to get the ball rolling on those ideas, and some day, possibly while your at the camp, make them happen.
I can promise you, if you are truly interested in progression, you will never regret going to wood ward.

I’m the father of a 14 year old boy who’s mad keen about BMX and been riding for a couple of years. He can do a variety of tricks – turndowns, turnarounds, xups etc. But I have no idea at what level. My queries are more about the quality of Woodward in its oversight of the participants, such as:
a) the quality of the training, including ensuring kids are not overlooked (I read one review which implied the kids didn’t get much organizational help e.g. knowing where to be at what time – but that’s just one review), and, most importantly:
b) how well the kids are looked after in terms of safety, behavior, meals, discipline, … you now, the whole sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll thing. I’m no prude. i’d be disappointed if there weren’t some hi-jinx shenanigans going on. Boys will be boys. But in new situations, with guys they don’t know, boys like to know who’s in charge and what the rules are too.
Welcome people’s feedback
Any advice?
